MY KITTY IS STUCK

#1 Postby Suzi Q » Thu Jun 10, 2004 9:08 pm

Ok, typical fireman rescue tale, my STUPID kitten is stuck in my bald cypress tree. Way past where my ladder will reach, and this tree's branches are NO WAY strong enough to hold me. Poor STUPID kitten (this is breaking my heart really) is mewing every so often and I have NO idea how to get him down. Any suggestions welcome.....

Suzi.. Try to lure him down with something..

If that doesn't work.. you could always call the fire dept to get him

I've already opened a can of cat food, that's what started him crying. Does the fire department actually DO that sort of rescue? I can see the look on my husband's face when he hears all the commotion in the neighborhood with a firetruck at house. I'm checking on him every 15 minutes or so. I got a ladder and climbed as high as I could to no avail. Seriously thinking about the water hose (although it would kill me to do that). This cat has already used up one life, riding home UNDERNEATH my truck from a chemical plant, 27 miles!!!!!!

You could send a duck up the tree to get him down. I'm allergic, so I'd sneeze him out. :)

Seriously though, I remember finding a cat up a tree in a park with a coworker of mine from the ER. He was WAY too far up there for us to reach. We just talked to him for a while and he finally worked his way down. I think we figured a dog must have chased him and he ran up there for safety. Once he realized it was safe, he came back to earth. :)

Good luck, I'm sure he'll be fine.

Well I'm hoping he'll come down but if he's not down by morning, I'm gonna have to call someone. I think what worries me is him falling asleep up there and falling down with his collar and all..........god, the nightmares, I think I'm gonna be sick.

Red Alert is over-kitty had climbed down to lowest branch and I snatched him and kissed him all over his little face.

Man, I need a chocolate shake now!

Thanks to all who responded to my (and kitty's) distress signals.

That's good to hear. I remember a stray cat getting up a tree one time at our golf course we used to run. Talk about a pain in the you-know-where. We eventually just left it alone and it came down on it's own. Cats like heights though.

Our cat's been on the TOP of the refrigerator before as well as the Counter, cabinets, furniture etc.

Never had it go on the roof, but then again, ours stays inside all the time.

YIPPIIEE, Im so glad your kitty is safe :) :)

I think cats head for heights as a kind of saftey instinct from predators... but what do I know ;)
