Dodged the bullet again! Michelle and I worked all night helping with the evacuations, roadblocks etc, then spent the rest of the night letting people back in, patroling the neighborhoods etc. The China Fire did in fact *spot* in an area that could have forced the evacuation of Pinetop, Lakeside.....but thanks to the firefighters, air attack, they SNUFFED the fire before it became a MONSTER..with that said, "Good night!"

Up to 1,000 residents of three eastern Arizona communities were evacuated for more than six hours on Sunday after a wildfire burned within a quarter of a mile of their homes, authorities said.
The "China" fire started about 2:30 p.m. on Fort Apache Indian tribal land near the town of Whiteriver, about 30 miles south of Show Low and 120 miles northeast of Phoenix. The fire, believed to be human-caused, burned about 110 acres before it was 95 percent contained by firefighters on Sunday night, said Chadeen Palmer, a Fort Apache tribal information officer.
No structures were damaged by the fire, and no one was injured, Palmer said.
Authorities ordered the evacuations of 800 to 1,000 residents when the fire approached homes in the communities of Chinatown, One Step Beyond and Dark Shadows.
Residents took shelter Sunday evening at a memorial hall in the center of Whiteriver until officials lifted the evacuation order at 9 p.m., Palmer said.
Firefighters dug lines around the fire and used two air tankers and a helicopter to drop water on the flames.
About 110 firefighters battled the blaze, she said.
Officials also ordered two firefighting hotshot crews to the area and 10 fire engines devoted to structural preservation, but the order was canceled when firefighters got a handle on the blaze.

Actually Karan, we do both! We came home, slept about 4 hours, got up and went to work....that's the NICE thing about being in business for yourself, NO SCHEDULE to follow..the thing that REALLY sux though, you CAN'T get anyone to cover for ya on sick days, no one to call in sick to LOL!
Thanks Garrett...we LOVE what we do, guess that's why we're the first ones the police dept calls, they can depend on us being there. Being a reserve officer, we have no set schedule either, we do, however, have to put in at LEAST 8 hours a month in order to keep our commission.
