Subliminal messages in music and ads

I remember back in the 70's and 80's when subliminal messages were inserted into commercials and print advertisements. Then I remember all the controversy with backwards masking in music (and how we used to take our LP's and vinyl singles and spin them backwards on the turntable to try to figure it all out and find out if it was true or not-- like "Paul is dead"). Most of it was just a suggestion of the mind...once someone told you what it was saying, chances were, it would sound like it to you, even if it didn't really say it. However, some of it was real and on purpose.

I just found out some artists are still doing that. Some band called "Cradle Of Filth" sings the Lord's Prayer backwards. Marilyn Manson does bizarre stuff with his music. Even Britney has some backwards stuff.
