Mary-Kate's 'Health Issue' Questioned
When news of Mary-Kate Olsen's hospitalization broke on June 22, her longtime publicist, Michael Pagnotta, issued this vague statement to the media: "Mary-Kate Olsen recently entered a treatment facility to seek professional help for a health-related issue. She is thankful for the encouragement and support of her friends and family who are with her every step of the way." Now Us Weekly is reporting that the treatment center is Cirque Lodge in Orem, Utah. Cirque Lodge's Web site says it specializes in the "effective treatment of individuals and families afflicted with the disease of alcoholism and other drug addictions."
That and reports from tabloid publications owned by American Media have fueled rumors that Mary-Kate is being treated for more than an eating disorder. Pagnotta has "categorically" denied to USA Today and other media outlets that drugs are involved. But why is Mary-Kate at a rehab facility that specializes in drug and alcohol abuse treatment? When Us Weekly asked Pagnotta this question, he responded: "It is a multi-treatment facility, which is perfectly capable of accommodating her needs. Mary-Kate has a team of people working with her, including a renowned psychologist in this field and a nutritionist. Mary-Kate Olsen is being treated for an eating-related disorder." Pagnotta was even more emphatic when he told The New York Post, "The bottom line is that Mary-Kate was not admitted for drugs, period."
See a photo of Mary-Kate snuggling with her boyfriend, David Katzenberg, son of DreamWorks studio head Jeffrey Katzenberg, when they attended Game 1 of the NBA Finals on June 6.
Ashley Olsen visited her twin sister this week where Us Weekly reports they had a loving reunion. The twins' father, Dave Olsen, says the two embraced. "Obviously Mary-Kate was very happy, and so was Ashley," Mr. Olsen told Us. He said Mary-Kate has had an eating disorder for two years.
One type of eating disorder is anorexia nervosa. WebMD explains what it is, what increases the risk, and treatment options.
A VERY INTERESTING twist to the Mary Kate Olsen story

The photo I saw at the checkout counter showed the girl's ribs and shoulder bones sticking thru her back. Way too slim by any standards.
Most anorexics like to cover up when they still think they're fat, not show off in backless gowns.
Those two kids are on top of the world, I hope she gets her noodle screwed on straight there. This could be a battle for her life.
