Things are starting to look more ominous in the NW Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. Do you hear Alex knocking at the door???

Well, it didn't exactly go "poof", but I rather wait some more. It look like maybe some hybrid system maybe forming, but it may be on land before it has a chance to develop.

Don't think Alex in the GOM ATTM. Watching former 95L and convection at the bottom of the trough north of Puerto Rico. Have a feeling that somethings gonna pop out there. BTW, if they (the experts) lower their numbers they will be wrong. 8-)

The area of disturbed weather in the Gulf looks interesting, as does the wave around 50-55W ... and possibly even that area of disturbed weather SW of Bermuda. None of these look close to a TD or anything and they all have things that could prevent development (interaction with the upper low/shear in the Gulf ... strong shear courtesy of an ULL to the NW of the Atlantic wave ... and a lack of strong convection -- even though it's building -- SW of Bermuda). But that doesn't mean they don't bear watching. We could yet see something come out of this "tropical soup."
