Bow echo just blew thru here

#1 Postby isobar » Tue Jul 13, 2004 9:04 pm

Scattered power outtages and wind damage reported in my area, but not in my immediate neighborhood. I recorded a 29 gust, which makes me wonder about the accuracy of my anemometer.

I had nickel size hail at 7:30 here at the house. In fact, you can see my report on SPC's Storm Reports under Warrick County, 2 mi south of Chandler. It should read Rt 261 instead of 61.

Got some awesome pics of the incoming shelf cloud and later some beautiful mammatus under anvil canopy at sunset. I'll try to post them tomorrow. Exciting stuff!

Watch out Breeze!! It's heading your way soon!

Giiiiirl, it's droppin' into Nashville, now! I'm about
65 miles south of Nashville, so, it should be here
soon! Glad your ok! Local mets are raving about
the path of damage - 60-70 mph winds, and,
tornado warnings in Wilson & Sumner counties,
already, in TN. It'll be too dark to get good
pics, so, I'll just ride it out!

Would 'ya believe that it started breaking up
by the time it got here? The winds were around
20 - 30 mph, and, the thunder and lightning had
pretty much disapated. Needless to say, this
old girl hit the bed and crashed!

Yeah, looks like the ruff stuff hit east of you. Glad you got a good night's sleep though! :D

Our yard was pretty messy. Besides our mulch that got blown all over the lawn, had some of the neighbor's junk mail in our bushes. Go figure!

LOL, your neighbors were probably proud if
you trashed their junk mail for them!
