WEST PAC typhoon path indicating east coast ridge?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

jb says if a storm doesnt recurve in the west pac that means an east coast ridge. the storm is very far north already, but is forecast to turn west south of japan.

The southern island chain may not be so lucky though. The projection is for heights to rise back east later this week. But it will take all week to do that and it's only a gradual state. At least there will be some sense of normalcy after the cloudy wet days coming in tomorrow through wednesday. Perhaps later this week, a more normal pattern in the northeastern and mid atlantic states.

Stop the presses, this MAY be the first pro-US-landfall post made by rainstorm in the history of weather message boards...

With some ridging, maybe some more normal temps for July in the major cities. It's been almost too cool this past weekend with highs 10-20 degrees below average. Today even with sunshine, temps are over 10 degrees down from normal.
