This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

There's a great spin right off of the coast of Florida, but the convection is way down south. If some convection would fire more over the circulation, this would easily develop. That still may happen.

The circulation is better than ever, just a little more of thunderstorms, and in a few minutes we have a TD.

Looks to me that some convection is trying to fire off around the center, not much but some.
With that said, what would happen if this thing suddenly went into a serious deepening phase. Would it still track West like the current thinking is, or would it eventually turn North toward the Central Gulf coast like previously thought?

It does look like the storms are trying to get to the center and it looks like the center may have dipped a little south towards the storms. But the thing is will they last and will more storms develop.

Whats really affecting this system is the northeasterly shear that is over it.
