Back from vacation.....

#1 Postby MGC » Sun Aug 01, 2004 4:22 pm

Got back from a visit with the big rat down in Orlando just it time to witness the NHC upgrade another pitiful system to TS intensity. I've got to hand it to these guys. They must be more desperate to have a named system than I was. Anyway, Alex looks pitiful. No convection in half of the sytem. It is badly sheared. A central pressure of 1010mb, come on. It has a small chance of getting better organized but that time appears limited. Nice to be back......MGC

It doesn't look pitful. Just because a system doesn't look perfect, doesn't mean it's being called for what it is. In fact, it looks better than it has all day. There systems that look better but really not as good as they look and vice-versa. Recon plane was there and found a tropical storm. That's more reliable than a sat pic.
