Yes, thats why I wouldnt mind all fish tracking between Bermuda and NC. Anyway, Alex's east course really didnt help the swell. Here in Jersey it was chest to head high. I hear that long island had some overhead waves. Nothing spectacular but a good start to the tropical/ east coast surfing season.

Yep, I went out Monday afternoon! Although the storm waves weren't as nice for riding as swells, very rough and choppy.
Went and looked at the surf early Tuesday, but when the waves are coming over the piers, my butt stays on the beach

Hi all! I'm a newbie here and I'm a Texas Surfer. I just found this sight the other day and I really enjoy all the insight. I saw some pics. of the swells the EC was getting and I was jealous as I hope to move to Florida in the next couple of years.
I'm still holding on to hope that TD2 will continue west and reform somewhere between its present location and the GOM. We're dying for some surf here.

All the local boys were out this afternoon on Brava beach to catch the waves...lots of wind and lots of good surf. An hour later I ended up getting blasted by 35 knot winds going to help a friend secure an anchor line on her sailboat...thought the (not so bad at all) worst was over when a white out caught us on the water...but we just danced in the rain on another friend's boat til the rain died out, enjoyed a spectacular rainbow, took care of the anchor and headed back...to more rain and wind, nice cooling off kind though...made soup to celebrate the humidity blowing away instead of us!

I surf when the waves present a decent ride, not much lately here along the FL. Panhandle. Alex was just too far away.
Went surfing in Hurricanes David, Hugo (NE FLorida) and Georges' once I moved here in Destin.
