What are you doing this summer?-Have you gone already

#1 Postby JTD » Sun Aug 08, 2004 9:08 pm

I was just wondering what the members of the board are doing for the summer? Did you go on your holiday already?

My cousin is getting married on August 14 so we're heading there August 12. That will pretty much be our holiday this year.

We're going on an Alaskan cruise next year. I can't wait for that! :D

Well as for me...our family vacation was spent going to my uncles, and visiting several colleges around my area. Since my uncle lives in Nebraska, I visited Creighton, and then took a trip up to St. Cloud, MN and visited St. Cloud State. Next year I'll prolly be spendin my time getting ready for college...haha can't wait!!! :D

A few trips planned to San Diego about every four weeks from here in Phoenix. Already spent about a week back in north central Illinois to see family.

No more trips planned at this time...

I only took 1 class this summer, so I have been enjoying my summer by spending lots of time with my baby (well I guess he's now a toddler, but I don't like to say it, lol). But back to full-time school in 2 weeks...

Two trips for our family:

Family vacation to Emerald Isle, NC 3 weeks ago. Had a great time, especially since this was pre-Hurricane Alex!

Family reunion to Kentucky Lake, near Paducah, KY this past weekend. 3 days with 25 family members, some in lodge rooms, the rest in cabins. Grilling out, swimming, hanging out, skiing/boating. Went way too fast and now back to normal again, whatever that is! Summer-time is just not normal - a routine unlike any other time of year.

That's it for our trips. We're all home for months. I will have a religious retreat in October to attend and possibly a women's family weekend in November (not sure if I can go). But that's it - staying home actually sounds nice. I'd like to find my yard again amidst the weeds, get back to eating home-cooked meals, etc.

Traveling's nice but being home is even nicer sometimes!

already went to Boston for a week. The rest of the summer is as it comes. This weekend we are going to Atlanta for some tatoo work, and to catch Nora Jones at Chastain Park.

Still need to see the beach sometime this summer.

Mt Washington Trip

#13 Postby jdt » Tue Aug 10, 2004 8:29 am

I took my first trip to Mt Washington in late June. Spent a full week, by myself, backpacking up, down and all around the area. Spent a few nights at the Lakes of the Clouds Hut located at 5000' on the southern shoulder of Mt Washington. Was an awesome experience and look forward to returning there someday!

I just returned from a family vacation in Cass Lake, MN. We stay at a beautiful resort right on the shores of Cass Lake. First two weeks of August is reserved for family vacation.
