Local News Stations

Just a quick question.. I was under the impression that when showing track maps they were requried to only show the "official" track map and not an altered one they they come up with.. Is that in correct information?

Most of the TV stations will do that ... I know the Accuweather station in Charleston, also does do so, but they like to make sure that they show their track forecast as well ..
