Should the Tampa Area Be Evacuated?

#1 Postby Thunder44 » Thu Aug 12, 2004 11:32 am

Well, with the possibilty of major hurricane hit that area within 48 hours. Isn't time to take that action? If I were there I would make plans to leave, even if I wasn't told to.

Tampa has 30 hours until it gets slammed. Evacuations should have started yesterday.

I'm a little irate about why they haven't started evacs either..

Just another example I guess of Tampa/St Pete not being too entirely serious

I guess this is an odd year for Tampa: a team from Florida wins the Stanley Cup and a major hurricane for the first time in quite a while

Tampa shouldn't be complacent inspite of their lack of 'canes in several years as Charley is definitely NOT a kitty-cat compared to Bonnie!

This CANNOT be happening. I guess they will wait until morning when Charley is aiming at them.
