Charley's East coast tour.....

#1 Postby MGC » Fri Aug 13, 2004 11:16 am

Charley should slam the Florida west coast between Sarasota and Ft. Myers this afternoon. The Tampa Bay area shoud be spared the worst. If the pressure drops just a little more than the NHC will upgrade Charley to Cat 3. After Charley crosses the coast he should next pass close to Orlando as a Cat 1 hurricane. Charley should cross the Atlantic coast near Jacksonville. Charley should then travel up the east coast and come close to the outerbanks, an area recently hit by Alex. Charley will next pose a threat to the New England states and the Canadian maritime....MGC

Tallbunch, you may be in the clear for Hurricane force winds, but you really should not discount Tropical force winds, heavy rain, some flooding and very possibly tornados in your area. Things are still in motion, and Charley could do any variety of things from now until the worst part comes near you.

Keep on alert. You aren't in the clear until Charley (and all his parts) are above you.

Gee, that kid of sounds funny. But I AM serious.
