Met Mike Seidel today at Folly Beach

#1 Postby Stormsfury » Sat Aug 14, 2004 12:52 pm

Right after he filed his last Charley reports down at Folly Beach, I got a chance to talke with Mike Seidel, and he's a real down to earth kinda guy. He was also extremely tired, and had been on assignment for 5 days, with very little sleep, but he was gracious enough to chat with myself and several other people down at the Folly Beach Holiday Inn ...

I captured 4 pictures on digital .. just gotta upload them ... 2 of them while he was filing those reports (and very visibly exhausted) and 2 other shots right after the report. (I'll post these pictures in just a bit)

Thanks to Mike Seidel for taking the time to talk with me.

I saw Mike Seidel this morning on the CBS Saturday Early Show...he was talking w/ Russ (can't think of Russ' last name). :)

WAY COOL that you got to talk to him, Mike! :D

Cool Stormsfury! You were probably down there the same time we were. We went out to take pics, but there wasn't much damage - thankfully! We didn't see Mike Seidel today, but we did run into him yesterday right after he arrived. We posted the pics we took yesterday pre-storm with hurricane prep going on in Charleston & Folly Beach (including one of him) at http://www.cswitwer.com

I went down there after taking my stepgrandmother home back to Charleston, and remembered talking with cswitwer this morning on her thread. So I decided to swing down to Folly after taking her back home. I got down there about 11:30 am this morning as they were finishing up.

Nice piccies, SF! Mike Seidel really does look tired, though. I imagine being on assignment does that to you.

He was on assignment for 5 days in a row,, including covering Tropical Storm Bonnie in the Florida Panhandle just a couple of days ago ... he did tell that after he just got done with Charley coverage here that he was off for several days before the next system ...
