Homegrown action...

#1 Postby N2Storms » Mon Aug 16, 2004 12:35 pm

What about the possiblility for some homegrown developement out of this front that is parked in the GOM? The Tallahassee NWS AFD comments on this, but goes on to say that they doubt it will occur. Any thoughts on this Pro or Con. BTW, my thoughts and prayers are with all of those who were negatively impacted by Charley. I have to admit, seeing all of that devastation really has taken the fun out of watching the tropics for me.

Surface Low Unlikely To Form

#2 Postby EmeraldCoast1 » Mon Aug 16, 2004 1:35 pm

You bring up a good observation. Convection has popped up along the boundary, but will probably not develop into a surface low. Always have to keep an eye on old fronts that "lay" in the GOM, but are just not typically doing that in August!

We had record lows over the weekend here in Pensacola.
