7:00 AM CDT ATLANTIC BASIN TROPICAL UPDATE
THURSDAY, AUGUST 19, 2004

Tropical Storm Danielle continues to weaken and move in a Northeasterly direction in the Eastern Atlantic about 815 miles Southwest of the Azores Islands. Danielle continues to only be threat to shipping.

A tropical wave about 1050 miles East-Southeast of the Windward Islands continues to be disorganized. Convection associated with this wave has not organized any more since yesterday and any development will be slow to occur. since some long range models do want to develop this disturbance into at a minimum a closed low and bring it into the Northeastern islands and then the Bahamas off the SE coast of Florida STORM2K forecasters will continue to monitor it and report any changes to you here.

Elsewhere in the Atlantic Basin no tropical storm development is expected through Friday.

This is not an OFFICIAL forecast product. For OFFICIAL FORECAST PRODUCTS consult the NHC and your Local weather service.
