Big TWC mistake

#1 Postby Derek Ortt » Sat Aug 21, 2004 7:47 pm

They are reporting TD 8-E has formed, yet NHC has not said anything. Does TWC now classify TD's?

They haven't been and shouldn't be... they like all weather forecasters/meteorologists are supposed
to get their tropical cyclone development information from the National Hurricane Center.

I hope not. Nothing on NRL, just Estelle and 98 and 99 Invests.

Just kiddin! There's a funny story for Vivian. When hurricane Gordon formed during the late fall many years back she announced a winter storm warning for Florida during her segment.. Nobody.s perfect!LOL

Oh yes, didn't you get the bulletin? Dr. Steve Lyons has started his own organization. They received enough $$$$ from all their commercials to even have their own tropical software. I believe it is called the SCREWO.

They are also selling bobblehead dolls of Hillary Andrews.

I don't know, but one thing is a mistake, like mistelling an state or a low pressure for a high pressure; but to say that a depression has formed without the NHC saying nothing about it? I've seen that today since the afternoon, hour after hour, without correcting their information. Fortunately the phamton TD is not in the Atlantic, because people would have take it more seriously. Things like this should not happen.

I have another Mozerism to share. Did you know that Tahiti is next to the Dominican Republic?

TWC can say what they want it is a free country. I believe within ten or so years private companies will fill the roles of the NHC

Unbelievable ! TWC now classifies tropical depressions ?? Without being confirmed ??

I'm so glad I dumped them 4 years ago

Heck even my friend Keith no longer watches them anymore, and he's not even a weather expert. He says all you ever see is inaccurate forecasts and nothing but stupid commercials...........

I thought I saw that yesterday too. Dr. Lyons this morning didn't mention another TD this morning in the Pacific. I really think TWC would be lost without him.
