7:00 AM CDT ATLANTIC BASIN TROPICAL UPDATE

Danielle's remnants continue meandering around the far Eastern Atlantic now moving in northerly direction about 775 miles Southwest of the Azores Islands. There continue to be no signs of redevelopment with this system and conditions remain unfavorable for any redevelopment.

The tropical wave about 575 miles to the West-Southwest of the Cape Verde Islands continues moving westerly at about 15 mph. Satellite imagery indicates that convection associated with this disturbance is now becoming more organized and increasing in coverage. If conditions continue to be favorable this system could develop into a tropical depression or Tropical Storm Frances later today or tomorrow. Several models develop this disturbance into a tropical cyclone and bring to the West-Northwest over the next several days. Although indications are that this system will probably respond to an expected weakness in the North Atlantic ridge and become a "fish" storm the Storm2k forecast team will continue to monitor it and keep you posted on significant developments.

Elsewhere in the Atlantic Basin, no tropical storm development is expected through Wednesday.
