This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Tropical depression 8 might form later today!

#1 Postby Matthew5 » Sun Aug 29, 2004 10:09 am

CLOUDINESS AND SHOWER ACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH A SMALL LOW PRESSURE
AREA LOCATED ABOUT 350 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF BERMUDA HAVE BECOME
BETTER ORGANIZED THIS MORNING...AND THIS SYSTEM COULD BECOME A
TROPICAL DEPRESSION LATER TODAY. IT IS EXPECTED TO MOVE WESTWARD
TO WEST-NORTHWESTWARD NEAR 10 MPH OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

Even so I think it is one now!

Agree 1000%, but they as normal are more concerned with Gaston and Frances.

Advisories will be started later today, if it still looks good. It has formed into a TD already. It's just a matter of waiting for TPC to classify it.

This could very well get very interesting. It appears to be moving west developing convection over a better defined LLCC. What could happen is Gaston is moving north-northwest in what happens is this sysem moves to the west or the west-northwest with possibly making a close call on the cape!

Wow man. First Gaston dumps a load of rain on us, and now Hermine might throw in some wind! And let's not even talk about the chance with Frances! Fellow NCers, get ready for a HUGE upcoming week.

Dr. Lyons on TWC says it will go north and then out to sea.

Isn't there a front coming into play with both Gaston and that low?
