Remember Betsy 1965

#1 Postby indwind » Sun Aug 29, 2004 3:40 pm

I lived on Homestead Airforce Base in 1965. We got prepared for Betsy because she was forecasted to come into the Miami area. She turned to the NW and we were given the All Clear. A few days later we were given the Get Ready AGAIN. Just an example of how unusual mother nature can be.

Wow, that's certainly an unusual track. However, that looks like a Cat. 5 hit Louisiana... I thought Andrew, Camielle, and the 1938 Labor Hurricane were Cat. 5 hurricane U.S. landfalls. Does Unisys have different category classes than others?
