Recon observations

They are at 23.2n-70.1w still far from Frances.

Post the observations in this thread to not make separate ones except the vortex messages which deserve another thread.

This is just a hunch, but I'm guessing they will find a pressure closer to 940 at this go-around. The outflow is phenomenal, and the entire storm has taken on a very symmetric shape. Convection isn't perfectly symmetrical around the eye, but the satellite appearance is a million times better than yesterday. The eye also continues to clear out, alhtough cirrus is still covering it.

Notice even outflow expanding to the south now. I noticed there is still shear west of Francis and wonder if it's faster movement to the west may cause it to catch up to it(the shear) in the next 24 or so hrs.

that's an upper low over the Bahamas. Frances will push her west, trust me. It happens all the time (it did with Charley too!).

Good point, with a well developed upper high over Francis this should fend of this UL. Will be interesting once it(Francis) moves north of Puerto-Rico and we can catch a radar look at this, hopefully far enough north of the island to spare them Hurr. force winds LOL
