I'm just wondering if Florida is under the gun should I worry about hurricane force winds here in Clearwater. I was a long range model showing a landfall in SFL and exiting south of Tampa. What can I expect if that plays out?
By the way I just stumbled on this site yesterday through google and I love reading all of the great info here.
should I worry here in Clearwater

Tomorrow you can tell if you're in 3 day cone of probability
If you are, then you must prepare as if it will strike the West Coast. This storm is not like Charley. It is much larger at this time with projected gale force winds 140 miles from the center on all sides. Even a sustained winds at 65-70 MPH with gusts higher than that can still cause substantial damage to mobile homes, trees, and power lines. Just prepare and don't wait until it is too late.

Treasure Island here. Hello fellow TB folks!
A few days ago I posted a "worse case scenario" that I asked about. I had it going over south Fl and then into the GOM. I had asked MW if the cold front that had just gone through Denver at the time would make it far enough east and south to be a player that could then turn the cane to the northeast after it crossed FL... into the panhandle or west Fl... crossing the state again. Now that actually could be a feasability. eeks.
-but way too early to tell yet. I think we will have a pretty good grasp by Thursday a.m. -the shame of that is that would only give 36 hours til landfall probably. Would that be enough to evacuate a populated area of east Fl???
