Dr. Steve Lyons comment
Dr . Lyons with TWC just said somewhere we are expecting a major hurricane to make landfall, between the Florida keyes and the Outer Banks of North Carolina..............duh

im sure he has eaten plenty of crow over the years..he is probably tired of it. honestly thought that is the company line for now, same deal here in sofla. they are just repeating the cone is all..of course we know better on this board

Actually I think he would have been wiser to say that the threat to Florida could be sooner than say the Carolinas so people down there should prepare themselves for a possible landfall. We will know Florida is in the clear if Frances makes a major turn northward and thus the Carolinas would have a little more time at this point.

Personally, I am a fan of Dr. Lyons. He does not hype the situation and is always "matter-of-fact". I am sure he is limited as to just what he is allowed to say. As a "matter-of-fact", he is much more knowledgeable about the situation than any of us posting on this board. Just my humble opinion.....
