Brevard Emergency Management just asked all residents of the barrier islands to leave tonight if possible. There will be a mandatory evacuation effective 2 pm tomorrow, with law enforcement going door to door. Schools have been closed and courts have been canceled. Govt offices will be closed.
There is also a curfew of 8:30 pm effective today. If you are caught out on the barrier islands after that time, you will be stopped by LEO.
I hope all my fellow Brevardians have finalized their hurricane plans and are ready to go. I am leaving at 7 for cocoa. Not a big leap I know, but on the highest point between here and space mountain!
Good luck everyone.
