Steering Currents!!!
I don't claim to know much about steering currents and the effects on strong hurricanes, so that is why I am looking to others for some insight. Looking at the latest visibles and WV loops, to the northwest of Frances the onshore winds seem to be moving in a northeast to southwest motion. My concern is when Frances gets a little further north will she be affected by those winds by slowing down and then turning more on a due west track through southern Florida? And then going further west in the GOM that forecast? Any Comments Please!!!

Frances is so large and in charge that she is changing the flow all around her..mostly near the surface. I can't verify what you were looking at for sure, but a visible loop does indeed show the NE-SW motion to the NW of of Frances. Most of these clouds are surface based, so the cyclonic flow around Frances is directing them counter-clockwise around her. The best satellite to look at for steering flow would be water vapor.
