Are the Bahamas big enough to weaken her any?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Are the Bahamas big enough to weaken her any?

#1 Postby Canebo » Thu Sep 02, 2004 12:33 pm

If she rides up the chain, will that be enough to weaken her any?
I know it wouldn't be much, but every little bit may help at this point. I imagine they are mostly small, flat islands;but can they still cut off enough of her water source to make any difference at all?

Not really, what you are seeing is the twofold impact of an ERC and the storm butting heads with the High.

If anything the Bahamas will just fuel Frances. There isn't any real land mass to weaken it and extremely warm waters to fuel it.
