Will Francis go west through the Fla straits or hit Cuba?

Is the blocking high getting stronger?

That is why I've personally ruled out the Carolinas. If it moves due west.... we gonna have some new problems arising!

She's been moving what appears to be northwest the last few frames, not even close to due west.

Golter..
yes.... and yes I PUT keys into my prediction BUT if you search ANY OF MY post you will see MY first choice is MIAMI or slightly NORTH (10-20 MILES) and yes the more frances gains north the less likely for the keys! but I would say Miami is still in range and I still think the pinch in the H.P. Ridge which has allowed a more north track last seveal hours is being filled in and a more wwnw or even west track is highly likely...

question

#11 Postby frederic79 » Thu Sep 02, 2004 3:19 pm

in the wv loop you posted, to the far left (west) it looks like a trough digging to the south in Texas. Is this the central US trough that's been talked about said to strengthen or amplify the ridge to eventually steer Frances west?

The trough over Texas is definitely shifting east. If this continues, what does it do to the future track of Frances?
