Too much Coverage

#1 Postby jagesq » Fri Sep 03, 2004 6:03 pm

I know that most of you won't agree with me but my opinion is that the stations here in florida are over-hypong this thing and have been for several days. I do not underestimate this systems danger in anyway, and I'm already prepared. But I have sat at home and watched the same thing over and over alll day long. Meanwhile, 200 innocent school children in Russia today were slaughtered by terrorists and President Clinton is undergoing a quadruple bypass.

It is a major story in the Orlando market. No matter what area(s) a weather story is expected to move through the area, gavel to gavel coverage is done.

Every market across the country does or should do the same. It is their job to let the public know, who is tuning in at different times, to get the most up-to-the-minute information from the National Hurricane Center, their meteorologists and their reporters out in the field.

Also, there isn't any reason for one or two of the four local affiliates to have coverage. They have the right to compete with each like their four newscast do every single day.
