2 myths of the anti-war crowd prove false once more

#1 Postby rainstorm » Wed Apr 09, 2003 10:56 am

there was no wave of terrorism against the us. not even any terrorism against us interests overseas. the 2 or 3 suicide bombing agianst us troops are acts of war. they were not directed against us civilians.
second-the "arab street" is not in turmoil rising up in protest.
i never thought either of these things would happen, and they didnt

is the successful war on terrorism that has been prosecuted by the bush administration. dont forget, the clinton admin gave al queda a free reign to
plan attacks against us after wtc93. bush has killed or captured many terrorists since 9/11. i dont think we even know how many terrorists have had a bullet put in their heads in secrecy. terrorism will always be around, but the wave of volence against america due to iraq just aint happenin

Rainstorm, so far you are correct. We have not experienced a wave of terrorism, YET. I pray we do not!! I fear we have been lulled into complacency. Our borders are far from secure and thousands pass across them freely everyday and they are not all our neighbors to the south. I reference j's quote above. Will we see another WTC type of attack? Probably not, since we have disrupted the terrorist network in a major way. But suicide attacks are another matter, IMO. Time will prove one of us wrong. I HOPE AND PRAY IT IS ME!!!!

me too.

Your point about the borders is huge, and until we control them, the John Malvo's of the world, will walk right in and hold this country hostage like HE was able to do.

It just proves how looney the anti-war crown really was. They are extremely unpatriotic as they only protested the war ebcause a Republican was running the war. This is entirely shameful of them to place party over country

i agree about the borders, but neither political party will control the borders for fear of losing the votes of hispanics. one other thing, last night a man on fox who is very well conneted in the muslim world, monsour ejaz?, was saying there are reports that some radical muslim imans are being shouted down by younger muslims when they spout out anti western nonsense. it is a start. i also think, if we use the cia to destabilize iran, that a much more friendly and democratic iranian govt may soon materialize.

Derek I have to agree with you on your point about placing political party over country. Right now both Democrats, Republicans and Independents and all others don't mean jack crap to me - its the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and Americans that show what this country really is about.

did you happen to catch the footage of the war protestors out west, which were in effect blocking supplies from being loaded onto ships that were heading to the troops? The Police had to resort to rubber bullets and tear gas eventually, and now, of course, the lawsuits will follow for Police brutality.

Then...they walk around with their shirts off displaying there "wounds" and writing on their bodies, circling the marks left, ...I mean they are certifiably nuts! Lets face it..what you are doing is against the law....you see hundereds of riot police with weapons, but you continue your civil disobediance. Just what do they expect to happen??

Un-patriotic, stupid, reckless, dirty....

anybody care to add to this list?

Then you knew alot more than even the government. Unfortunately, even years later, we'll probably see some crackpot do something in the name of "Saddam".
