Report Farther North.. Gainesville

#1 Postby Ajarens » Sun Sep 05, 2004 7:13 am

10 miles N. of Gainesville here... gusty winds... 5 minute break.. gusty winds with sheets of rain. Worst part... dodging the Tornado Warnings. Doppler indicated and spotted all over the place up here. It is a mess.

In Marion county, to your south, we had a tornado move through Citra and towards Sparr just after 6am. Right now winds 15-20 steady with highest gust of 40. Rain total of 1 1/2. Power lines are being damaged throughout the county from reports on the scanner. Most seem to be limbs or trees falling on them and causing local outage. Several large trees have been downed blocking roads. FD units have cleared some of the blockages.
