we got lucky

#1 Postby wzrgirl1 » Sun Sep 05, 2004 7:36 am

Hello folks,

My location was about 80 miles south of the center. We got very lucky around here with only downed trees and power outages. We have basically dodged both hurricanes, Charley and Frances by about 100 miles with each one. Our luck will run out sooner or later but just thankful that it wasn't worse. By best to those who had damage with either storm. Now we have to worry about Ivan the Terrible. Let's hope that if the forecast holds true....whatever the strength.....that if it goes over the mountains of Hispanola it will weaken before hitting any land. This has been one season to remember for Florida and I am afraid it isn't over yet.
