We started preparations one week ago. We felt as though we were well prepared. My wife & I plan to sit down & list what we did right & what we need to improve on. We got the first band about 4:00PM Friday. We came out of the house at 7:30 this morning. Thats 63.5 hours. The last 8 hours were pure hell, while the time before that was just regular hell. I admit that when we got the back side of Frances this AM I was scared. I guess it was because I had been hearing those screaming winds fo almost 3 days solid plus I had cabin fever. Thank God FPL came back on line tonight.
If Frances had maintained Cat 4 status and had remained over the Bahamas & South Florida for as long as it did, I fear that the destruction may have been complete & Biblical.
I am leaving our shutters up untill we are through with Ivan. If Ivan approaches as a Cat 4 or 5 & and landfall is in Palm Beach or Martin Co. we mave leave. I'm tired of hurricanes!
