Back from Palm Beach Gardens. my sister has got some soundproof house there. She only got a little rip in her screen porch. We didnt lose power until Saturday night. (thank Goodness). We came home to Jupiter late sunday morning. We have our house and even our stubborn ficus trees! We had alot of other peoples trees in our yard, but our citrus trees are fine-lost some grapefruit. and we lost a gazebo, but I wanted to get rid of that anyway. Also We got our power back last nite YIPPEE.
Fellow floridians hope everyone is safe. Barb in Jupiter

can't get back til wednesday
Well, the good news is that we've heard from my cousin who lives nearby that our house in Jupiter survived. A tree down, lots of yard debris, some shingles gone, etc. but no structural damage, leaks, or anything like that.
Trouble is, our flight back to FL from CT today was cancelled and now we can't get back until Wednesday.
Oh well, it could be a lot worse. And from a gallows humor standpoint, this makes it easier for me to decide whether to take the shutters down. By Wednesday afternoon, we should have a much better idea about whether Ivan is planning to follow his sister Frances through our lovely state. So it could be less work all around!
