White House says "the regime is gone" in Iraq, calling it "a great turning point" for the Iraqi people.

Hopefully this message will be relayed to the fallen Republican Guard army and they will surrender and no more major fighting will take place.

Wonder why they say its fallen? Do they know something we don't?

The Iraqi civilians certainly believe it's fallen! They wouldn't be out there doing that if they didn't. Those same people burning Saddam posters, cheering when his statues crumble, and holding up Bush pictures, USA signs, and kissing our soldiers are the same people who cheered for Saddam on his birthday and kissed his feet. The sad difference...they knew they HAD to do that for Saddam or they could be executed. Now they are expressing their new freedom. This is so wonderful for those Iraqi civilians. They deserve the same freedom we have.

Can you imagine the jubilation those people must be experiencing! For the first time in many years they can actually express how they feel and have hope for a future where they have some say in the matter.
