Question About This Board's History

Did this board 'spinoff' from the palm beach post site, from years ago? Or has it always been seperate from that? Because I see alot of people that used to be on that message board.

Depends what you mean by spin off. Many that were at GoPBI over the years are here now. The people that initially formed the site were once members at GoPbi and there was a huge exodus here last time they changed the templates at GoPbi. But this site is not an official spin off of GoPbi.

Thead - I dug up my old Welcome thread. I also wondered about the origins of this site, same as you did. So here's that thread, Marshall had a very nice response for me back then.....

Haha thanks for the replies! I thought most of the people seemed familiar, from the old lowes/gopbi board. I was on that for a longgg time also, back when it was called by the year, like storm1998, storm1999, etc. (Not sure if those were the exact names, but remember it went by the year) I mostly lurked around, and have enjoyed finding great resources that are posted, and its just really good to have some people to talk to thru the actual storms, when they're bearing down on us. Keep up the good work, I'm going to throw a few bucks into the kitty too.
