I asked this on another thread but now I have lost it.......
What about Margarita Island, off the coast of Venz? I don't speak Spanish so it is hard to read any Venz. Warnings. I haven't seen it mentioned but my close friends just moved there and I am trying to get word to them, if need be. Thanks much!

Just in case anyone reads this????
I called my friends on Margarita Island (quite near Trinidad) and asked her if everyone is aware of this hurricane down there. She said everyone is excited and happy about it as it will bring rain and good surf for the surfers. She said it hurricanes NEVER affect Margarita due to some position or something. I think they are being VERY naive. Anybody know anything about this region's quirks? I think it is way too close for comfort.

Found this on worldatlas.com. Looks as if people there would think the peninsula that juts out might protect them. They will see the south side of the storm.http://worldatlas.com/webimage/countrys/samerica/lgcolor/vecolor.html

People are reading it but there's so much flow of information on this board that they save their typing efforts and time for other posts. Don't take it personally. To answer every question on this board would take constant typing for hours.
I don't think Margarita is in the track because the motion keeps pulling up. Whatever saves Margerita is doing it now. My guess is that the tropical flow from the Atlantic is moved quickly through the Caribbean, pulling airmasses away from the coast in the vacuum it creates...
