Swing and a miss or Called 3rd strike with Ivan

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Wed Sep 08, 2004 1:04 pm

Being as pessimistic as I am.. I think it's a called 3rd strike..

After recovering from Charley and Frances lol.. Looks like I'll have to get ready for Ivan soon..

If there's 1 bright spot to all this.. if Ivan comes my way.. My hurricane experiences have QUADRUPLED since the start of the season {1 to 4}

Definitely out of my 1st 3.. Charley was the worst 1. Frances was minor here but horrendous on the coast..

Erin in 1995 was really nothing more than an extended severe thunderstorm..

Didn't Bonnie count for something? That would mean Florida has had three.

Balk? lol and yes I'm sorry Bonnie should count.. But Bonnie didn't hit Central Fla.. Charley did and Frances did directly {Charley direct too but only after landfall in Ft Myers area}

Max Mayfield said it's like Florida has had a "kick me" sign on it this season.

A hurricane "triple crown" is not unprecedented though.

1955
Hurricane Connie hits North Carolina as a Category 3.
Hurricane Diane hits North Carolina as a Category 2.
Hurricane Ione hits North Carolina as a Category 3.

1964
Hurricane Cleo hits Florida as a Category 2.
Hurricane Dora hits Florida as a Category 2.
Hurricane Isbell hits Florida as a Category 2.

Double whammies:
1954
Hurricane Carol hits New England as a Category 2.
Hurricane Edna hits New England as a Category 3.

1966
Hurricane Alma hits Florida as a Category 2.
Hurricane Inez hits Florida (Keys) as a Category 1.

1985
Hurricane Danny hits Louisiana as a Category 1.
Hurricane Juan hits Louisiana as a Category 1.

1989
Hurricane Chantal hits Texas as a Category 1.
Hurricane Jerry hits Texas as a Category 1.

1995
Hurricane Erin hits Florida as a Category 1.
Hurricane Opal hits Florida as a Category 3.

1996
Hurricane Bertha hits North Carolina as a Category 2.
Hurricane Fran hits North Carolina as a Category 3.
