A TRIPLE deductible..?

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Wed Sep 08, 2004 1:29 pm

Just a question for all of you paying insurance..

Lets' say Ivan hits here god for bid..

Does that then mean that those who had previous damage from Charley and Frances would be paying a 3rd deductible..?

That would be completely unprecedented and also a bit unfair

There is going to be alot of lawsuits out of all of this...guarantee that the ins. cos are going to see it as three separate events, thus three separate claims, thus three separate deducts.

If Ivan hits FL, the insurance industry in FL is going to change in ways no one ever thought.

deductibles

#5 Postby obxicane » Wed Sep 08, 2004 1:49 pm

I work in the industry on the Outer Banks. It may seem unfair but it is three separate occurrences, therefore three deductibles.

It is a shame, but I would not hold my breath waiting for the insurance companies to waive a deductible. They may feel your pain, just not in your pocketbook.

What if someone claimed that they were damage-free until the last event?

Personally I would tend to believe someone if they had not already filed a claim. Most people would not think that far ahead. I imagine most have already filed claims.

I have a sister that has had damage from both. Her adjuster said the frances damage will be considered charley damage because no adjuster has been out to see the damage yet. If the adjuster gets out their before Ivan all damage from that storm will belong to Ivan.

you guys are speculating...you have to follow the chain of events...and cause and effect

I am writing these claims..
for instance

you get hit by charley and removes your shingles... but no interior damages . then francis hits before I I could look at it or you could get it repaired, and now you have interior leaks...That 1 deductible,.

lets say you had a tree fall on your house on the west side during charley, then in francis you had a a tree fall on the east side. thats 2 deductibles, and rightfully so.

or you have a pool cover that got blown out in charley, and were lucky enough to get it repaired, then francis takes it out,, 2 deductibles.

or when charley hit you had 3 shingles missing , then francis takes out the rest.... thats 2 claims.

PS.. why should you not pay 2 deductibles for 2 diferrent claims? what is unfair about that?
