Models vs. Human Forecasting?

#1 Postby Ixolib » Wed Sep 08, 2004 7:49 pm

Why, with all the discrepencies, are the models so highly regarded? It almost seems that good old fashioned forecasting has taken a step back. Our local met of years ago - Nash Roberts in N.O. - used a marker and a flip chart, and more times than not, came out being "spot on". I think this is why I'm so addicted to this site - real people doing real forecasting!!
