In all seriousness....

#1 Postby Guest » Thu Sep 09, 2004 11:03 pm

I honestly feel in my heart that God will block Central and South Florida from receiving more devastation from a hurricane. Only problem is, that means someone has to get it. I've seen strange things happen with hurricane tracks before, lets all just be alert and give support to whom ever receives this bad boy.

I agree to a point and that is that God does not keep you from going through the storms of life. He is there as your protection and shelter during the storms.

I've lived here over 50 years and have NEVER seen anything like this.
To say we were due is an understatement. HOwever, three hurricanes in a months time is a little more than we can take.
Even if we survive bodily, the land is already saturated and flooding and the roofs are either damaged or on the verge of failure.

I like tracking hurricanes, at least, I used to.
This year, I'm shell shocked and have glazed eyes.

But, we'll survive.

You have probably all heard the old story about the man who was caught in a flood. All that was keeping him from being washed away and drown was a tree branch he was hanging on to. He prayed desperately for God to save him.

A boat appeared and tried to rescue him, but the man told them to go away because he had prayed to God to save him.

Then the people who were sitting on top of a roof of a house threw him a rope. He told them “no thanks. I have prayed to God to save me.”

A helicopter flew above the man. “Go away,” he yelled. “I believe through the power of prayer, God is going to save me.”

The water rose higher and finally the man was drowned.

When he got to heaven, the man was angry with God. “Didn’t you hear my prayer. Why did you let me drown?”

God answered, “What more could I do? First I sent a boat, then the neighbors, and even a helicopter. You refused all of my help.”

Have faith in emergency management, evacuate if necessary.... but saying that you believe that God will turn the storm.... that's a bit foolish. God helps those who help themselves :) Consider the NHC and local officials your direct link to help from God :)

The God I serve has parted the red sea, turned water to wine, and made all things in the Heavens and on Earth, and the greatest of all he gave His only begotten Son so that we all can be saved, should we accept Him, and not suffer to die.

My God is capable of anything, its not foolish to think he would not intervene.

God Bless You! :D

Well, it may just be in God's plan that it hit Florida. As stated before, we've only been tracking these storms for a little over 100 years. Who knows how many times this has occurred before the times we know of with our records? I'm sure Florida has been over-run more than this in history. We're human and nature is nature. Nature is the ruler of our lives and that won't be changing.

As Mother Theresa said.."God only gives me what I can handle; I just wish he'd stop giving me so much." :)
