I think it is the time for us here to join in a prayer for those over 2 millon people in Jamaica hoping that they get out of this without any tragic news.

I won't argue with that. They could use some divine intervention right now.

Yep. An approaching cat 4 from the SE...if the track (wobble) holds. PLus...it is deepening at 2.3 mb/hr over last 3 hours. Could be back in the 920 range by the time it gets there.

PRayer indeed. I also heard a lot of people did not want to leave their houses because of looters. So...many people are in their homes.

I agree. Jamaica definitely needs our prayers right now.
One of our local mets this morning said he'd read on the internet that the Jamaican Weather Service was out on strike and were not covering Ivan. Has anyone heard anything about that?

Yes, now there's a worthy subject for my 500th post.

My prayers for the people of Jamaica. May they be guided in action to keep safe, and may they be granted the strength to endure this ordeal.

I'm not very religious but I just said a prayer for them anyways.

It is looking like an impending disaster especially for Kingston. I hope
relief personnel everywhere are poised to act as soon as its safe to do so.
