Time to Chill and just do it....

#1 Postby MBismyPlayground » Mon Sep 13, 2004 10:28 pm

Okay, I know I am a newbie on here but........now is the time to stop stressing, there is not much more up in the air except for the strength of Ivan.......We have a pretty good idea of where it is hitting. We know it has been up to a very strong Cat 5. For those of you in his path, assume that it will be a CAT 5 and evacuate! For those of you who are in the path for some of his leftovers, prepare as if it were a Cat 4. It could slow down but why risk it. Instead of being afraid, especially those of you with families, take control now, and just DO IT. Get your family packed and MOVE inland. The more fear you show, the more your families will sense your fear and then you will have even more problems!( yes, I have done this, evac, with 5 kids, ages 4 months thru 16 and hubbie gone overseas.)hint: remember to breath in, breath out, and counting to 10 does help!
Honestly, I am so afraid for some of you. Well, all of you in the path but especially those of you who have been freaking out. Afraid you will end up like deer in the headlights. PLEASE, get your families packed, move, and then freak out and stress!!! :blow:

Couldn't have said it better. This storm is a monster and I would imagine that a large area would be impacted in someway, even if they are not the area of a direct hit. Just move to safety folks. You guys are in my prayers tonight.

This area of the Gulf Coast is full of people that have no clue as to the real fury of Mother Nature (People that have moved here, and tend to speak with funny accents and say things like yous guys) These are the people I worry about. When stocking up on dry goods etc. I saw people stocking up on microwave dinners and frozen food? I also witnessed people buying interior panneling and particle board to use for their windows? God Help them all!

Oh Good Gosh....they are preparing for a snowstorm!!!!!!!! Pray for them and their families. Hopefully they will just evacuate, go "home" and see what is left and then realize what they were preparing for!!!! This is north eastern storm!! Wonder they have not tried to buy shovels and salt. :(
