Lots of interesting stuff on GFS 0Z run . . . .

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Have a look -

http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/namer/gfs/00/index_slp_s_loop.shtml

Ivan crawls to the S. Appalachians and rains itself out.

Jeanne meanders for a while before crossing south FL, stopping, and then accelerating back to the NE, all because of an impressive polar vortex and trough that brings the 540 thickness line down to central Ohio. Lake effect snow possible in the U.P. ??

Gotta love all the possibilities in September.

What on Earth does that thing have Jeanne doing over Miami? Having a tea party for a day?? Dumping a few feet of rain before moving on? Jeez.

Am I reading that thing right -- Jeanne doesn't become a hurricane? Not that I think the idea of her sitting and raining over Miami/SFL is wonderful...but it's better than the other possibilities.
