NNW track I don't believe would be having this type of banding features this far in to LA. Last position only moved Ivan 2/10ths of a degree to the west and this does not jive with that course. Of course this is just my opinion based on sat. observation. Recon will probrably say its moving north. ( not putting them down) just don't understand visual vs. recon data.

MobileBay - If you are correct concerning the current fix at 26.0N and 87.8W that would mean that Ivan has traveled .4 degrees north and .6 degrees west. I totally agree with that analysis.
Mobile is 88.15W so as you say, that is a pretty important point for Ivan to pass if he is going to have a greater impact to the west.
