Conditions in coastal Alabama and Hattiesburg MS......

#1 Postby manofsteele79 » Wed Sep 15, 2004 8:29 pm

I'm in Hattiesburg and we're now getting enough wind to knock out limbs etc. My folks and in-laws are in Robertsdale AL (15-20 miles north of Gulf Shores) and already have a tree over the driveway. Not sure of their wind speed but they predicted power wouldn't be on much longer. I'll try and keep you posted.

Laurel isn't bad yet either, light gusts to 20. Still have power...for now (yes you know who this is Steele, and I may miss my Pascagoula prediction now, you win the pool). Stay tuned.....

It looks like a Mobile Bay or Gulf Shores landfall..... I don't think it'll quite make P'cola. I think we'll get 50-60 mph max here in H'burg.... maybe a few higher gusts. My had a few really good gusts a few minutes ago and I lost a big limb. I'm gonna go sit on the porch a while. The folks have officially lost power and told me (via cellphone) that there are several trees down in the area now.

I have loved ones in h'burg and really want to know what they're going through!

(elderly, not the chatty type, so they're not gonna be on the phone describing it to me)
