i live in Decatur IL or more appropriately at the red dot in the image link below. take note of the thin band of cloud overshadowing my location. this is cirrus overshoot coming off of the top of Ivan.

right after snagging the above satellite image, i went outside and facing W, the following image is the same thin cloud line seen from the ground.

a little while later, this persistent band of cloud serving as the absolute furthest reach of Ivan's presence captured the setting sun to produce the following.

Ivan is a monster yet as with all storms under ideal conditions, there is an awe inspiring beauty to be experienced.
