I am starting to hear model runs and even some respected forecasters mentioning Ivan re-emerging over the ocean off NC and then turning south with the possibility of regenration...posing a threat to.........FLORIDA...??????????
Check out Gary Gray's tropical discussion for today. All sorts of interesting scenarios to look forward to in coming days.

The models suck. Ivan is moving ENE near the freaking Mid-Atlantic, and it's gonna get caught and back SW. Yeah right. What about the big stall Ivan was supposed to do over the SE?
And for that matter, where's all this northward component to Jeanne, or what's left of her? I like the NHC, but in this case, I think their forecast has been a bit of a joke.

IF I'm not mistaken someone posted earlier that Bastardi was predicting much the same scenario for Ivan. I wish I had started a "storm journal" early in the season. It will be hard to remember all the bizarre things that have and may still happen. Much like 1995, I doubt any of us will totally forget the 2004 season. I'm still reeling from the pictures out of the Panhandle. Those condos on the beach are supposedly built to withstand almost anything and they are crumbled like matchboxed.
I have mixed feelings about whether building should be allowed again once mother nature has "taken them out". In fact, I thought I heard FL had enacted a law a few years ago to that effect but I guess I'm wrong AGAIN as the re-building goes on in Sanibel and Captiva and other barrier islands recently demolished.
Rambling again so I'll shut up and read.
