EXPERIMENTAL FORECAST
HURRICANE KARL
NJN WEATHER CENTER
1035 AM SAT SEPT 18TH 2004
Hurricane Karl became our seasons 7th hurricane and may become yet another major hurricane. The good news, he will remain only a threat to mariners.
Karl is currently in a healthy environment for strengthening, and may continue to strengthen before he is eventually picked up by a trough and pushed north by ne away from any land. He will apparently get nowhere near any land masses.
Karl's intensity may become quite frightening for some if he strengthens rapidly.. But he is expected to remain a fish.
Here is the NJN latest forecast on Karl:
Today: Continued strengthening, very healthy storm. Max winds: 100 mph
Sunday: Might strengthen even more.. Max Winds: 110 mph
Monday: Starting more Northward turn. Still strong. Max Winds: 125 mph
Tuesday: Probably still a major. Headed poleward. Max Winds: 135 mph
Wednesday: Starting to weaken.. Thank god it's a fish. Max Winds: 125 mph
As always.. Forecast tracks and intensity are subject to errors, some by as much as several 100 miles.
