Jeanne Death Toll Rises

The Associated Press reports that at least 90 people have been killed by Jeanne...with the death toll expected to rise:

Yikes maybe we should start thinking of replacement names for Jeanne...

Looks like Ivan and Jeanne like hanging out with each other every year.

Third world countries + tropical systems never mix very well. Hati's the kind of place that, were it hit by a major storm, would probably lose thousands of people.

it has happened before

in 1963 Flora killed at least 6,000 between Haiti and Cuba

Unfortunately, I really doubt Jeanne will be retired for causing 90 deaths in Haiti.

If every name that killed 100 people in a poor country like Hispanola was retired, we'd run out of names.
